About Wilson Arts Inc.

Wilson Arts Inc. is a non-profit community organization formed in 2005 to support Wilson when the MAPS for Kids plans called for the elimination of the WWII-era “temporary” classrooms, where most of the fine arts classes had been taught.  Fearing that the loss of dedicated arts classrooms would jeopardize the success of the school, a group of neighbors established Wilson Arts Inc. With seed money from a predecessor organization, the group sought grants from several foundations, and worked for 4 years to raise the funds to construct four additional classrooms to provide adequate facilities for teaching drama, instrumental music, vocal music, and visual arts to ensure the continuation of the arts integration curriculum that has been so successful.
